Svarga Loka sits on the riverbanks of the beautiful Campuhan river in Ubud, Bali, Indonesia. A hidden gem, the resort is a comfortable 90 minutes drive from Bali I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport and just a 10 minute walk to the centre of Ubud.
The 45-room wellness resort opened in 2014 – it was confirmed by local priests and healers that the land on which Svarga Loka sits has powerful energy. To honor the land and its gifts the owners built Svarga Loka without moving a single tree. They have passionately prepared Svarga Loka so that its guests can benefit from the properties services but also the magical energy upon which Svarga Loka sits. The owners wish is that every guest is touched by Svarga Loka helping them to build their dreams for a fulfilled and happy life.
Svarga Loka resort itself sits on what was once land belonging to the King of Ubud, it is regarded as a spiritual location, powerful energetically, the Campuhan River we sit next to is called ‘the love river’ as 2 rivers intersect some 800metres upriver, and the royal temple sits at that junction. The landscape and surrounding forest has been maintained and sustained in it’s original state, therefore very little of the eco—system and ecology was disrupted when the resort was built and has flourished since.
We have implemented a ‘farm to table’ cuisine whereby our organic garden produces and provides vegetables to the restaurant such as mint, long beans and lettuces. Where we are unable to produce ourselves, we source from local organic farmers, ingredients such as tea and honey..
We offer culturally authentic experiences at Svarga Loka, from water blessings and ‘canang’ flower offerings at the Spa, to White Crane martial arts, an indigenous practice called Silat as well as various options for temples, palace, priest and healer visits.
We support several charities in Bali, such as the initiative with BIWA, Bali International Women’s Association’s breast cancer awareness programme. We support Yayasan Rumah Sehat, a charity supporting a poverty stricken community in a mountainous region of Bali, the charity helps with investing in farming to feed the community, education of the village children. We also support BaliWise Foundation, a charity that offers education and job opportunities to marginalised women all over Indonesia
