Colon Health – Important things to know about your gut

Why is suddenly everyone stars talking about colon health?

A new study from the American Cancer Society states that the number of adults in the United States are dying from colon and rectal cancer at an increasing rate about age 50, the age when they should just be beginning screenings.

The colon is part of the digestive system and to maintain it means maintaining an optimal health and wellbeing. The liver, which is our main detox organ, and each of our cells and tissues rely on a healthy colon. Having a well functioning colon would enable proper elimination of all toxins from your body. When the colon does not work properly, it would increase the risk of build up toxins and waste products. Constipation followed by irregular and painful bowel movement caused by the toxic build up within the colon would only be the start of other possible diseases waiting to appear.
